I am the Lorax, I Speak for the Trees

I’m watching, for the first time, the 1972 cartoon production of The Lorax. (There’s a full-length movie version in the works, starring Danny DeVito as the voice of the little yellow-mustached guy. I hope it doesn’t stink as bad as the life-action Grinch…)

Dr. Seuss.  Cute, right? Sort of funny?

Oddly, I am not enjoying it at all. I sort of want to cry.

This was made in 1972. It’s now 2010. And it’s all still happening. It could as easily have been written/made today as then.

You can see the whole thing online.  If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it. Even if it makes you sort of want to cry.
