What I’m Reading
My Google Reader is up to that “1000+ unread items” place again, so I need to clean it out, a lot.
So these are a few of the ones that got me interested enough to actually click and follow:
- The Republicans don’t want the EPA to be able to address greenhouse gases. This isn’t exactly news. But there’s apparently a stealth provision in the bill currently making its way down the line (“I’m just a bill, and I’m sitting here on Capitol Hill…”) which will also involve all of us having to pay a huge amount more in gas. I confess I don’t really understand it.
- Limbaugh and Beck think the earthquake/tsunami was God’s way of telling the Japanese to stop recycling and making Priuses. *headdesk*headdesk*headdesk*
- As usual, legislation aimed at preventing financial institutions from screwing both small businesses and consumers is going to wind up screwing both: the debit card interchange fee cap.
- Check out ethisphere’s list of 2011′s most ethical companies.
- An iphone app to help identify trees. My husband has got to get this one…(er…that is, types of trees, not “look, it’s tall, it has a trunk and branches and leaves, it must be a tree!” But you got that, right?)
- Earth Hour is coming up on March 26…here are some fun ideas for how to celebrate it with the family.
- I can’t stand Facebook games, but Harrison Ford is helping develop one called “Ectopia” to help teach about sustainable living. It released April 4…
- Whole Foods has printable coupons available online…who knew? I’m shopping there much more than I used to when I didn’t live half a mile from one…I need to get on the coupon wagon a little more, I think!
- Introducing: Kids Cook Mondays!–I love this idea; this summer when schedules even out a bit, I totally want to try it.
And…now I have only 750 unread items in my Google Reader. To Be Continued, I guess…
